Upcoming systems outage - Access Copyright to upgrade its business systems
Tuesday, December 2, 2025
Access Copyright is planning an upgrade of its business systems at the end of this year. This upgrade will, in part, include an update of the technology underpinning our systems and ensure that we will be able to continue to serve you well into the future.
While this upgrade is taking place, the following platforms will be offline.
- Creator Portal
- Publisher Portal
- Creator Affiliation Form
- Title Search and Permissions Tool (including the transactional-licensing portal)
The upgrade is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 and is expected to be completed on Monday, January 5, 2026.
During the upgrade
While the upgrade is taking place, Access Copyright staff will be able to assist with any questions you may have until our offices close for the holidays on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at 12 noon EST, and when they reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. EST. Please contact us during these times at info@accesscopyright.ca for general inquiries or at permissions@accesscopyright.ca if you were wishing to search our repertoire of published works.
What you need to do now
For creator- and publisher-portal users as well as those with a pending application through our online creator registration form, no action is required on your part.
For those who use our Title and Search Permissions Tool to search our repertoire or make any transactional-licensing requests, please complete any licensing requests through the transactional-licensing portal by Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. EST. Any permission requests that remain pending once the systems upgrade is underway will not be transferred during the upgrade.
All other data in the affected platforms will be transferred.
What you need to do once the upgrade is completed
The upgrade is expected to be completed on Monday, January 5, 2026. Once the upgrade is finished, all platforms affected by the upgrade will be online again. At that time, we will contact our affiliates and licensees by email.
While each platform will look slightly different after the upgrade has been completed, they will include all the functionality that you are accustomed to.
At that time, there will be two things to keep in mind:
- You will need to set a new password the first time you log in to any of the updated platforms after the systems upgrade. You will be able to do so by logging in with your username and then selecting the Forget Password option.
- If you have bookmarked the web address of any of the platforms affected by the upgrade, you may wish to create a new bookmark as the URLs for all of the affected platforms will change after the upgrade is completed.
If you have any questions about the upcoming systems upgrade, we’re here to help. Please contact us anytime at info@accesscopyright.ca.
Many thanks,
The Access Copyright team
