Payback for Writers and Payback for Visual Artists

Access Copyright distributed this year’s Payback payment to our creator affiliates on October 15.

All creators affiliated with Access Copyright as of December 31, 2023 were eligible for this year's payment.

If you receive royalties from us by cheque, it was mailed out to you on October 15.

If you receive royalties from us by direct deposit, please allow up to two business days after October 15 for your payment to appear in your bank account.

This year’s payment includes a base portion of $53.29 and a supplementary portion if you have made a Payback claim in the past based on the type and amount of work you have reported.

How to access your distribution report

Your distribution report, which details this year’s Payback payment to you, is available in your online portal account. To review the report, please visit the creator portal and log in with your username and password.

How to access your report: After logging into the portal, you’ll see your distribution letter and report on the left side of your screen. 

For Safari users: you will need to perform one extra step to access your distribution report. After downloading it, you will notice it will appear as a text file. Please find the report file in your Download folder and remove the ".txt" of the file name in order to access your PDF copy of your report.
