Access Copyright Elementary and Secondary School Tariff, 2005-2009
The convenient copying solution for schools
Every publicly-funded school in Canada, outside Quebec, is subject to the Access Copyright Elementary and Secondary School Tariff, 2005-2009, as set by the Copyright Board of Canada in 2009.
The tariff is designed to allow you to make copies that would not be covered by fair dealing or available through the public domain. It simplifies your job by eliminating the need to ask permission every time you want to make a copy.
The tariff provides permission to copy from a vast repertoire of commercially published books, magazines, journals and newspapers, and ensures that creators and publishers are paid when their works are copied. Under the tariff you can:
- photocopy, fax, type and word process (without adaptation)
- make slides, overheads and LCD projections
- duplicate from a stencil
- copy onto microform (including microfilm and microfiche).
* Please note this tariff does not cover schools located in the Province of Quebec or any K - 12 independent schools. To find out more about copying under the tariff, please contact Access Copyright at 416-868-1620 (toll-free 1-800-893-5777) or email us.
