Creator Eligibility Requirements

Canadian citizens and permanent residents, including writers and visual artists, are eligible to register for affiliation with Access Copyright provided they meet the following requirements:

At least one of their works has already been published in print format such as in a book, magazine, newspaper or scholarly journal.
They have at least one work to which they retain reprographic rights.
They are not already affiliated with any other reprographic rights agency (such as COPIBEC in Quebec).

Visual artists should register if they:

Are a photographer, cartoonist, sculptor, fine artist/painter, multimedia artist, illustrator, craftsperson, architect or clothing designer who has produced his/her clothing in a quantity of less than 50.
At least one of his/her works has already been published in print format such as in a book, magazine, newspaper or scholarly journal.
Visual artists need to submit to Access Copyright:

Photocopy or scan of the visual work as it appears in the publication, including a credit to the visual artist.
Photocopy or scan of inside title page.
Photocopy or scan of copyright page parent work.
