A Change is Coming to Access Copyright's Creator Repertoire Payment
In the past, repertoire was shared equally between all eligible creators whether you published one short story or wrote dozens of novels. As of 2010, our board of directors has made the decision that repertoire payments will vary depending on how much you contributed to the repertoire of works that are licensed by Access Copyright. The more you have been published, the greater your share of the repertoire payment - It's only fair.
Two new repertoire payments will be launched in 2010: one for writers and one for visual artists. Under the new repertoire payments, all eligible creators will be entitled to a base payment. In addition to the base payment, creators will also receive a supplementary payment which will vary depending on what they have published (books, magazines, scholarly journals and newspapers), how much they have published (e.g., two articles versus 200 articles or three photographs versus 30 photographs), and when the works were published (five years ago versus 20 years ago). Expect to hear from us again in early 2010. We need your help to ensure that you receive your fair share of the repertoire payment.
