Access Copyright provides two basic types of licences for your permissions needs in Canada (excluding Quebec where licensing is managed by Copibec):
- Comprehensive – a yearly, renewable licence
- Transactional (pay-per-use) – a one-time, pay-per-use licence
Comprehensive:
A comprehensive licence gives advance permission for basic photocopying in Canada (excluding Quebec). For more information on getting a comprehensive licence with us, please contact us via phone at 416-868-1620 (toll-free 1-800-893-5777) or via email.
Transactional (pay-per-use):
Access Copyright can provide authorization to reproduce copyright protected material for the following list of uses indicated below through our pay-per-use licensing services. Each use is linked to a form that can be filled out and sent to our Permissions department via email at permissions@accesscopyright.ca or via fax at 416-868-1621. Our Rights Management System (RMS) also provides online permission services that can be accessed by clicking here.
Transactional List of Uses:
- Print Reproduction – includes copying a work by a photocopier, fax machine or other similar method.
- Print Presentation – includes copying a work in either print or digital form by a photocopier or similar method for use as an overhead or slide and projected onto a screen.
- Internet – includes posting a work from either print or digital form on a Website accessible to the general public.
- Intranet – includes posting a work from either print or digital form on a Website where access is restricted, such as a password-protected company Intranet.
- Digital Reproduction – includes storing a digital or scanned work onto a device such as a CD-Rom, USB port or personal computer.
- Digital Reproduction (Email) – includes sending a digital of scanned work by email.
- Digital Presentation – includes digitally copying a work from either print or digital form to be included in an electronic presentation, such as PowerPoint.
Republishing:
In addition to our standard suite of permission services, Access Copyright also offers, on a case-by-case basis, a republishing permission service. If you are looking to commercially publish content that was previously published, use may be granted through a pay-per-use licence. Please contact our Permissions department via email for more information.
