Reading print is better for you

Do you want to sleep better, reduce stress and keep your mind sharp as you age?  All you need to do is take time each day and read an old-fashioned hardcover or soft cover book, according to recent research on reading formats.

Reading print material daily for at least 30 to 45 minutes has been shown to aid comprehension, increase empathy and enhance our ability to focus deeply on what we read.

It is hypothesized that print reading is advantageous because our brains are conditioned to respond to the geography of the printed page. The fixed location of words on a page and the tactile progression of turning a page create a more immersive reading experience.
